Volunteer Opportunities at Grow Life Church

Teachers (Nursery/Preschool) – We provide children’s ministry during service each weekend for children from Infants through 5th grade. Our teachers guide the children through praise and worship, a Bible lesson, crafts and games. A background check is required for all Children’s Ministry workers. Some prep is required during the week, Sundays 9:20 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. The current commitment is to a rotating schedule.

Classroom Assistants (Nursery/Preschool) – Assist the teachers with classroom responsibilities, including interacting with the children, setting up and cleaning up games or crafts, etc. A background check is required for all Children’s Ministry workers. Time frame runs from 9:20 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. each Sunday. Current commitment is to a rotating schedule.

Small Group Leaders (Elementary) – Assist with tear down, focusing on interacting with the children who are first time guests or seem withdrawn.  During small group time, leaders will direct discussion by reviewing what has been taught and answering questions.  Leaders will also pray with the children.  This is a time for more personal discipleship with the children.  A background check is required for all Children's Ministry workers.  Time frame runs from 9:20 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. each Sunday.  Current commitment is to a rotating schedule.

Welcome Team (Nursery/Preschool) – As parents drop their children off at the different classrooms our welcome team is there to greet and help with our computerized key tag check in system. Basic computer skills are helpful. A background check is required for all Children’s Ministry workers. Time frame runs from 9:20 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. Sunday mornings. Current commitment is to a rotating schedule.

Assist leaders with activities and build relationship with Sr. High kids.  The Sr. High Ministry meets every Sunday from 7:00-9:00pm.  A background check is required for all Sr. High Ministry workers.

This team helps by praying during the week for prayer needs that are emailed out.  There is also a rotation of monthly intercession prayer during service.  Need computer to access prayer emails.  Current commitment is ongoing, with a once-a-month intercession time during the message.

This team provides logistical support to the weekend service. Including but not limited to offerings, communion coordination, special event coordination, greeting, help people in inclement weather, security, stage equipment coordination, etc. Time frame is Sunday morning 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Current commitment is every other month rotating schedule.

This team helps people feel welcome by greeting them at strategic points as they arrive. They also assist at the Guest Connections table. Time frame is Sunday morning from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Current commitment is every other month rotating schedule.

This team helps by setting up and maintaining the hospitality tables where we provide coffee and breakfast items for our guests and members. The time frame is Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and after service at 11:00 a.m. to help clean up.  Current commitment is ongoing, with the goal of monthly rotating schedules as more people volunteer.

Set up Team – Meets every Friday Night at Veterans Elementary at 6.30PM to set up for weekend services. The process includes setting up for seating, pipe and drape, children's/nursery rooms, and stage/sound. We understand the difficulty of getting dinner made and the kids out the door, so we are committed to providing food and drinks for those who attend - hopefully this makes things easier.

Tear down Team – Stays behind after church is over to move everything out of the school and return the school to its proper condition. Usually finish by 12:30 p.m. Some heavy lifting required.

This team provides technical support for the Audio Visual needs of the services, both worship service and Grow Life Kids service. Basic AV experience helpful but not required. Time frame commitment is Sunday morning 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Current commitment is ongoing.

This team helps write thank you notes and other hand written communications for the assimilation of our first and second time guest.  These are mailed out to our guests by Wednesday each week.  We provide everything needed: cards, postage, gift cards, and names and addresses each week.  They also assist with communicating with member/attenders regarding touching base after several missed services and connecting more fully to people at Grow Life.   The communication volunteers must have a reliable computer/email access.  Current commitment is once/twice a month but workload can vary by the month especially during holiday seasons.
