Child Dedication

Child Dedication

GrowLife Church believes that children are a gift from the LORD, realizing the miracle and privilege that comes with nurturing a life.  We are very excited about your interest in dedicating yourselves to raising your precious child in the life-giving ways of Jesus Christ.

Purpose of Child Dedication: A Child Dedication is a ceremony in which families profess a public commitment before the Lord, along with their congregation, to raise up a child in the Way of the Lord, the Truth of His Word in the Bible, and the demonstration of His love, grace & mercy in their training, discipline and nurture.

Dedication Service: Entire families welcome to join in the service.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What are biblical examples for dedicating a child to the Lord? 1Samuel 1:26-28, Luke 2:25-40.

Do I need to be a member of GrowLife Church to have my child dedicated here?  (No, however, during dedication, GLC commits their lives as godly examples for the child and thus we the desire the family’s regular attendance to GrowLife.

What are other qualifications for Child Dedication? (We ask parents to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We ask that parents are willingly submitted to GrowLife leadership.)

At what age should I have my child dedicated? (No set rule, however 3-8 months is the average age)

Are single parents eligible to dedicate their child? (Yes. However, GrowLife recognizes that extra effort is required in raising a child as a single parent and particularly desires to bless these families. We do ask that any parents living together and who are not married, take steps to understand and surrender to God’s family plan for their relationship beforehand.

Does GrowLife baptize infants? (The Bible demonstrates baptism amongst believers over the age of accountability to insure that the decision is one made freely and purposefully, reflecting a personal acceptance  to believe and to trust in Jesus Christ, for oneself.  Acts 2:41, 8:12, & 10:47-48. GrowLife performs believers baptism, separately, several times a year.)

An Example of Child Dedication in Scripture

26 And Hannah said, “O my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood by you here, praying to the Lord.27 For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. 28 Therefore I also have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord.” So they worshiped the Lord there.

1 Samuel 1:26-28
